Black and Decker Rice Cooker - Help With Cooking Perfect Rice
Cooking Rice can be known as a skill. Some of us can do it and get great Rice every time. On the other hand, some of us can not cook Rice at all. At best, we may get lucky once in a while and produce something edible (if you are anything like me!). For people in this situation, a rice cooker will be the best solution to the problem.
This article reviews the range which are designed and produced by Black and Decker, a name which many of us associate with tools and other hardware.
This is a brand which you have not just inside your shed but also in your kitchen.
As well as having the strong name which usually brings thoughts of quality to mind, a Black and Decker rice cooker is equipped with all the features that any decent rice cooker should have.
A Black and Decker cooker will come with automatic and preset buttons. All you need to do is just place the dry rice in the pot, add water then press the button. That's it. The rice will begin cooking.
The 'keep warm' setting is added convenience and will allow the right temperature to be controlled and maintained automatically. This will make sure that the rice is not under cooked or over cooked.
There are also indicator lights which inform you that the cooker is either cooking the rice or simply keeping it warm for you.
Monitoring and checking the progress of the rice is safe and easy. The models in the range feature glass lids which have steam vents fitted that will keep the moisture right and the right amount of heat in. Both the lid and handles will also stay cool, allowing you to serve the rice the moment it is ready.
You can also steam vegetables at the same time as the rice is cooking with the steam tray which is included. I admit that I would prefer to see some changes made to the steaming tray as it is made of plastic. I personally think it would be better if it was made from stainless steel. However, this does not take anything away from the quality and easy to use cookers you will find on a Black and Decker rice cooker.
So there you have it. A quality product from a quality brand. These appliances from Black and Decker are becoming increasingly popular and it is easy to see why.

Jungle Baby Shower Favors
If you are having a jungle baby shower, give guests favors that they will either eat or use. Here are some ideas:
Cookies - Everyone loves cookies, especially if they are in fun, jungle animal shapes. Bake your own by using a recipe specifically designed for decorated cookies. Then whip up a big batch of frosting, and divide it into about four or five bowls. Add a few drops of food coloring to the bowls, making sure that you use a different color in each. Homemade frosting is so easy and significantly better (and cheaper) than frosting in a can. Most recipes use only five ingredients including: confectioner's sugar, milk, vanilla, and food coloring. Decorate with M&M's and other small candy for eyes, ears, and noses. You can also make some black frosting, place it in a plastic bag, cut a tiny hole in one of the corners, and make animal stripes for tigers and zebras.
Candles - Find some tropical scented candles and place them in an animal print bag. Wild tropical rain and coconut are just a few scents available. The store Pier One has a wide variety of small candles. You can also find some inexpensive glass candle holders. Since the jungle is made up of greens and browns, try alternating different color candles within their holders at each place setting. That will allow your favors be used as table decorations, as long as they are not lit.
Rice Krispie Treats - Just follow the recipe on the Rice Krispie cereal box. After they are one solid layer with a pan, use animal cookie cutters to create the shapes. You will want to be sure to coat the cookie cutters with non-stick spray before using them, so the treats come loose easily. Also, look for cookie cutters with simple, large shapes and not much detail. Rice Krispie Treats are a bit trickier to maintain their shape than cookies. Decorate with cookie icing on the entire treat, or just use frosting for key areas of the animal like the ears nose and mouth.
Functional Gifts - Let's face it, very few people like to decorate their homes with jungle trinkets. So give your guests practical items like measuring spoons, a packet of coffee, notebooks, magnets, magnetic grocery lists, playing cards, a calendar, or anything else that you think will get some use. Dollar stores, Office Max and Target are great places to find inexpensive items that are used every day. I recently found some pink and blue rhinestone magnets as well as colored rhinestone pens on sale at Office Depot. Simply place an item into an animal print bag.

Santa's Top 10 Elementary School Teacher Edible Christmas Gift Ideas
Running out of good ideas for Christmas gifts for your son or daughter's elementary school teacher? Feel like your running out of time? Ho', ho', ho' my friends fret and worry no longer Santa Claus is here to bring you my best list of edible gifts for the holidays. Why edible gift ideas you ask?
Edible gifts are enjoyed by everyone, especially desserts, candy and sweets of all different kinds. Plus with the economy the way it is my elves and I had to come up with other ideas to get by this holiday season. I hope you all understand. And we can't afford to let big, expensive gifts go to waste in the event the teachers don't like them. And who doesn't like sweets? Sweets are synonymous with the holidays, right? So that's another reason I am suggesting sweets and candy gifts. So without further delay here is the list, right here. Wait one second. I thought I had it. Oh, excuse me one second. I have to call my head assistant elf on my cell phone to bring it to me. Be right back!
(5 minutes later)
I can be so absent-minded during this time of year. You know I've got a lot of things on my mind. And right now elementary teacher gifts are on my mind so here's my list. Just be prepared it might make you hungry. Ah let's see here.
1. Chocolate Covered Popcorn in a decorative tin: so the teachers can snack on something yummy while grading your little ones' papers or they can sneak it in to the theater so they don't have to pay the high pRices. I mean (clearing throat and coughing) wait 'til they get home from the theater.
2. Chocolate Covered Apples and Caramel Apples: Oh, it reminds me of my summer vacation to Coney Island out on the boardwalk.
3. Cookies in a decorative cookie jar: that way he or she will always see it on their desk and will remember all year round who gave them this great gift. Then maybe they will give your child a better grade. I mean (clearing throat and coughing again) one of his or her delicious cookies.
4. Rice Krispies Treats decorated into different shapes: these can be chocolate covered and frosted as well. I can see me gaining a few extra pounds already. Maybe there are diet rice krispies treats.
5. A Desktop Gumball Machine or M&M Machine: NOT for the classroom of course, rather for home enjoyment.
6. A Cookie Bouquet (cookie pops): they come decorated in different shapes and styles. They are delicious and play a twist on the normal flower bouquets. I once tried one at a house I dropped off some presents to. Ok, I didn't eat it, I just looked at it. Maybe I took a nibble. Ok I ate the whole thing. How else am I supposed to keep my Santa form?
7. Message Candy in a holiday mug: you can create your own customized message on chocolate candy pops and then choose the mug for them so they can drink coffee in order to stay awake to grade tests and reports.
8. Giant Holiday Decorated Fortune Cookie with holiday fortune: I think I saw this idea while working in China I don't remember, but either way these are some of the coolest cookies you'll find. It's very unique and different and that's why I like it.
9. Chocolate Covered Pretzels in a decorative mug: sweet and salty together doused with icing and yummy toppings. You know sometimes I feel salty when I don't eat something sweet for a long time.
10. Lollipop Bouquet: maybe he or she can reward students for making good marks or grades.
Well there you have it folks Santa's Top 10 Elementary School Teacher Edible Christmas Gift Ideas. It may be hard to find some of these at stores so I recommend you search for them online. That's what I may need to do this year with all the work I have left to do. Then my reindeer won't have to work so hard. Merry Christmas everyone!

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too Kids Party
Image : http://www.flickr.com
Who's everyone's favorite lovable, huggable bear? Winnie the Pooh, of course! This popular bear is used for many theme parties, not just for babies. Kids and adults all love Winnie the Pooh as the theme for their party. If you have a big tree in your backyard, you can pretend it's in the Hundred Acre forest and keep your party outside.
Party supplies for Pooh bear come in many different styles. They can be specifically for a one year old birthday or generic for any age birthday party. There are Winnie the Pooh shaped balloons, plates, wall hangings and invitations. His group of friends - Piglet, Tigger, Eyeore and Rabbit - also have coordinating party wares. Balloons and crepe paper come in every color to match your theme exactly.
Games to play for your Pooh Bear theme can include pin the bee on the honey pot, pin the tail on Eyeore or give Pooh his nose. With small kids you can play hide the honey pot. Winner gets a prize! Another fun game is musical chairs to Winnie the Pooh's theme song music.
Cookie cutters in the shape of Pooh bear's head can be used for any type of treat. Make cookies, brownies, Rice krispie treats or pancakes in the shape of the bear. They can also be used for tracing on paper making decorations and gift wrap. Cake pans are available in both the honey pot shape and Winnie the Pooh. Special candles and frosting sprinkles are also made to coordinate with the Pooh bear gang.
Every party supply store will have favors to award as prizes. They can be bubble solution holders, trinkets, stickers or tattoos. Stuffed animals also make good prizes for any age party attendee. Winnie the Pooh thank you cards can also be sent to guests with a picture following your party.
