Grade II Ankle Sprains - First Aid RICE Treatment Methods - Long Term Treatment Options

1.) Grade II Ankle Sprain Involves

A.) Moderate tearing of the ligaments fibers
B.) Moderate level of instability
C.) Pain, moderate to severe and difficulty in ambulation (walking).
D.) Bruising, at least to a minor degree may be self evident

2.) Treatment of a Sprained Ankle

When you look at your treatment options you will see that their are immediate first aid options and then there is a longer term rehabilitation and strengthening focus.

A.) Immediate First Aid for a sprained ankle (R.I.C.E.)

Your first thought should be to reduce any swelling by the R.I.C.E. method. This is an acronym that stands for Rest, Ice, Compression, & Elevation) as soon as possible.

• "R" stands for rest. It is important to rest your involved ankle to reduce discomfort and prevent the damage from getting worse. You can use crutches if necessary.

• "I" is for ice, or a similar cold therapy. This can help to reduce swelling, reduce bleeding (in initial stages) and actually promote blood flow (when used later). Apply an ice pack or cold therapy unit immediately following an injury to your ankle for 15 minutes. Then repeat this every two hours.

• "C" stands for compression - This component of the R.I.C.E. method will help to reduce bleeding and also helps to reduce swelling. For more information on how to wrap your ankle, do a search for a "Louisiana" wrap.

• "E" stands for Elevation - Use gravity in your favor and held to reduce bleeding and swelling by allowing fluids to move away from the site of an injury. Put your feet up and get some you know to wait on you!

B.) Long Term Treatment Methods - Therapy, Surgery, Ankle Braces

Some people can get by with physical therapy, and sometimes surgery is needed to help treat an extremely injured ligament. Another very good idea for a grade II ligament sprain is to use the support that an ankle brace can provide. This is no joke. These supports can help reduce your pain, improve stability, and help to stop you from reinjuring your ankle sprain. When you help to eliminate the ability to keep reinjuring your sprain, you will then be able to promote healing. - You should not look back wishing you would have done more for yourself, while your ankle problem was only a moderate one. You should seriously think about getting support for your ankle today.

ninjagoLEGO cake

This is a ninjago LEGO cake I did for a 5 year olds birthday. I had no idea who ninjago was so I had to do quite a bit of research when I came across the picture I include in the video, I knew I wanted to make an actual standing ninja. So I ran it by my client who was thrilled. Overall I am happy with the way it came out especially since this was my very first attempt at making a standing person from cake or RKT (rice krispies treats). I had sooo much fun but it took me alot longer than I could have possibly imagined. It took a total of about 3 days. On the last day I worked from 7 am to 11 pm on the cake but it was worth it. The cake is just a vanilla cake. The rice krispies were made from french vanilla and regular vanilla marshmallows which is why some are yellow. again, overall I am happy and I hope you guys like it. Please rate, COMMENT and let me know what you guys think and subscribe :0)

Do Not Forget Treats for Santa and the Reindeer This Christmas Eve

Everyone knows that Santa puts in a lot of miles trying to deliver all the gifts to the good boys and girls around the world. This is hungry work so we need to do what we can to make sure that Santa and his reindeer are well fed for the trip. Making treats is a great way to kill some time and to keep the kids occupied when they are so excited about Santa coming. You and your children can do just that with some of these easy treats for Santa and his reindeer.

· Sugar Cookies - Nothing is easier today than making sugar cookies in shapes of Santa and reindeer. All you need is a premixed package that is sold in the chilled foods section of your grocery store or you can make them from scratch if you have this talent. There are also great kits that come complete with everything that is needed to make wonderful holiday cookies. All you have to do is use the cookie cutters to cut out the shapes and let the children decorate them for Santa.

· Granola - Every reindeer loves nuts and grains and granola is an easy way to offer them a treat while waiting for Santa to put the presents under the tree. Use a red bowl and let the children put in their favorite nuts and treats for the reindeer. Mom and dad can eat this treat while the children are asleep and they are wrapping gifts for the morning.

· Rice Krispie Treats - Rice Krispie treats are an easy way to make great treats for Santa and his reindeer. They can be molded into any shape and decorated just like cookies using sprinkles and frosting. Cookie cutters can be used to cut out shapes for the smaller children who may not be able to create works of art by sculpting them. It is fun for the kids and a great way to keep them occupied during the long hours on Christmas Eve before bedtime.

Do not let Santa and his reindeer go hungry this Christmas. Get the kids involved and keep them occupied by making treats that can be left out and eaten by them. Not only does the children occupied, but it also offers some delicious deserts for after the Christmas dinner and it makes the children happy to see their hard work appreciated by the adults.

Quick and Easy to Prepare Homemade Dog Food Recipes

When it comes to preparing homemade dog food, it seems so difficult and unachievable, especially with the type of busy lifestyle we live in this modern age. As a matter of fact, preparing homemade dog food can be easy and provide good nutrient for your dog as well provide you know what you are doing.

If given a choice, I'm sure your dog would prefer natural dog food prepare by you rather than funny size, unrecognizable commercial kibble that are not as healthy. The main problem with most commercial kibble food is that they contain too much low quality protein that contains a high quantity of ammonia producing agents.

A good healthy replacement would be foods that contain eggs, real meats with a low fat content such as white chicken meat, and low fat dairy products such as yogurt and cottage cheese. Such foods are high in moisture and provide high quality protein that dogs need for good health.

One high quality and quick homemade meal that you can provide for your dog would be:

Ingredients:

Cottage cheese

Egg

Chicken (Baked, steam fish, or canned fish)

Cooked Oatmeal

Canned Pumpkin (plain, no spice type)

The cottage cheese, egg and chicken should make up to about fifty percent of the meal, oatmeal thirty percent, and twenty percent pumpkin. Barley and whole wheat bread can be used as substitute for the carbohydrates. This recipe only takes a few minutes to prepare and your dog will love it! On the surface, this meal might appear to have high protein content, nevertheless, the protein are of high quality and your dog would have no problem digesting them.

Vegetable based biscuits are another easy to prepare dog food that can be stored for later in the refrigerator or freezer:

Ingredients:

An Egg

1/3 cup of applesauce

Tablespoon of brewer's yeast

A Cup each of cooked brown Rice, mashed or grated vegetables

Mix well and drop small dollops of the mixture on a greased cookie tray and bake for about 10 to 13 minutes in a 350 degrees heated baking oven. These biscuits can be served as a treat or as part of your dog's daily meal.

Preparing your dog food at home is not really difficult and time consuming. A search on dog food recipes online can give you many good dog food recipes also. If you are good at it, you can even provide better nutrition for your dog and save some money along the way.
